The Women in Golf Awards returns to Foxhills in November

Marketing and PR agency The Loop has announced that it is to sponsor a new ‘content creator’ category for this year’s Women in Golf Awards.

The award is to recognise the importance of women’s creative voices in the game of golf and with the newly launched agency having its roots in media and content, an award that celebrated the inspiring achievements in this sector of the golf industry was a natural fit.

The Women in Golf Awards was launched in 2022 and has become an important platform, creating visibility for women working in the sport and providing an opportunity for industry members to connect with other women in the sport. This year’s event will be held at Foxhills in Surrey on November 27.

Mike Harris, Partner at The Loop, said: “Having attended the awards for the last two years I have been so motivated by the positivity and energy in the room. As the media landscape across golf continues to evolve, we know the importance of dynamic content creators who speak to both existing audiences, but also attract new people to the game. We see many women leading the way in this new era of content creation both in traditional media and emerging talent in the creator space, so it is exciting for The Loop to celebrate them.”

The Women in Golf Awards has grown year on year, with 150 people celebrating last year’s event at Foxhills, a club where 25% of its golf operations staff are women. Awards co-founder Nicole Wheatley is confident that they will continue to grow and inspire more women to consider a career in the golf industry.

Wheatley said: “We are excited to have The Loop join us as a sponsor for this new category. They are a great example of how the industry is evolving to target communities through authentic content. For women both working in golf and for those who play, it is important that a female lens is applied to the game. The diversity of golf’s audience needs to be reflected and celebrated. We hope by introducing this category we will encourage others to tell their story and continue to inspire women and girls to play.”

The 2025 Women in Golf Awards will feature at least 10 sponsored awards covering a range of areas within the industry, from agronomy to coaching and course management.

“With our backgrounds in media, we’ve worked with some very talented female journalists, broadcasters, photographers, videographers and content creators,” adds Harris, former editor of Golf Monthly. “I wouldn’t be where I am without the influence and direction of Jane Carter (former Golf Monthly editor), who was one of the original trailblazers for women in the media space, and who spotted my potential and gave me a chance back in 2003.

“We’re big admirers of Nicole, a long-time industry colleague whose passion and drive is really making a difference. These awards can have a huge and positive impact on the game and we are delighted to play a part in supporting them.”

Every area of the industry is represented with greenkeepers, PGA Members, venue and business owners, brands, agencies, golf club secretaries, senior managers, employees of the professional Tours and NGOs all in attendance.
