As LIV Golf teams tee off in South Africa for the first time, home team Southern Guards and their official apparel partner Oscar Jacobson are ready for a record breaking week.

With over 100,000 tickets sold in advance of the first day, LIV Golf South Africa at The Club at Steyn City is vying with LIV Golf Adelaide for the best attended LIV Golf event on record. For an inaugural event, this level of support is unprecedented and shows the home crowd passion for the Southern Guards.

At a press conference in advance of final preparations, team captain Louis Oosthuizen said, “We were extremely proud walking through here yesterday. Once everyone gets through the gates, they’re going to see what this event is really about. The bigger picture for me is that we enjoy this week and show everyone our beautiful country. That’s our main goal.”

Support for the team extends to their apparel partner Oscar Jacobson. With team apparel available to purchase both online and on the course at the event, demand for Southern Guards merchandise is hitting record levels as well.

“In our there years sponsoring LIV Golf teams we haven’t seen anything like the support Southern Guards are getting at their home event,” commented Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of the team sponsor. “We have sent more merchandise to South Africa than to any other event, and it’s looking like that will sell out very quickly. The South African fans are thrilled to support their team on home soil, but they are also driving sales across our entire range online. This could well be our best ever week across both team merchandise and the wider range.”

The team, made up of Major winners Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel, along with Dean Burmester and Branden Grace, take to the course in the Herald polo in Navy for the first round. The Herald is already proving popular with golfers around the world after being launched as part of the Oscar Jacobson Spring/Summer 26 range.
