SkyCaddie GPS technology has scored a third win in quick succession on the Legends Tour 2023, after ex-Ryder Cup star and SkyCaddie user Peter Baker won The JCB Championship at the weekend.
The victory, which propels the 55 year old Englishman to second place behind Alex Cejka on the MCB Road To Mauritius, is Baker’s second on the Legends Tour this season following his emphatic Irish Legends win at Seapoint in late June.
In all, 21 of the top 30 finishers at The JCB Championship used SkyCaddie GPS during the rain-shortened tournament.
SkyCaddie GPS became the Official Distance Measuring Device of the Legends Tour in June 2023. Players who use SkyCaddies during tournaments can download each day’s pin locations, with Legends Tour officials using SkyCaddie’s ground-mapped yardages to set pin positions.
SkyCaddie, which uniquely in golf professionally surveys each hole of every course on foot, also provides printed Pin Sheets to players for events on the Legends Tour, formerly known as the Staysure Tour and European Senior Tour.
The Legends Tour is one of the world’s most prestigious tours to allow players to use DMDs during competitive play, and in 2022 SkyCaddie GPS users made up over two-thirds of the field across the season – with eight victories and 14 runner-up spots being claimed by SkyCaddie GPS users.
SkyCaddie’s other 2023 victory on the Legends Tour to date was scored by Australian golfer Richard Green in the Jersey Legends tournament at La Moye in June. Green currently lies 5th on the MCB Road To Mauritius.
