Skandia to partner the European Senior Tour

7.43am 6th July 2009 - Sponsorship & Events

Leading investment firm Skandia has joined forces with the European Senior Tour, becoming an Official Sponsor of The 2009 Senior Open Championship presented by MasterCard and a Partner Sponsor of the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters.

The association is the Southampton-based company’s first foray into tournament golf sponsorship, which complements its position as Sky Sports’ golf broadcast sponsor.

It will enable Skandia to provide client entertainment packages at Sunningdale Golf Club for The Senior Open Championship presented by MasterCard from 23-26 July and at Woburn Golf Club for the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters from 4-6 September.

Jo Gilbey, Head of Advertising for Skandia said: “We are very excited to be involved with both of these events for the first time. Skandia’s participation builds on our broadcast sponsorship of golf on Sky which started in April, and gives us excellent opportunities to entertain our guests whilst increasing awareness of the Skandia brand amongst potential customers.”

Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Senior Tour, said: “We are delighted with Skandia’s involvement at both The Senior Open Championship and the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters.

“These two premiere tournaments, at Sunningdale and Woburn, will provide Skandia with tremendous hospitality opportunities for their guests and will also be an ideal platform for them to engage with their target market.”

Launched in 1979, Skandia in the UK is a leader in the new model of long-term investments, offering flexible and tax efficient solutions tailored to individual needs.
