Leading from day one, Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth completed a stunning wire-to-wire victory at The Masters to claim his maiden Major Championship.
The 21-year-old, who finished runner-up in his first Masters appearance last year, matched the lowest score in Masters history by opening with an 8-under par 64, before consecutive rounds of 70 over the weekend helped him to post an impressive 18-under par, 270 victory total.
This marks the fourth consecutive Masters victory for players trusting a Titleist golf ball, after two wins for golf ball loyalist Bubba Watson and one for Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott in the past three years.
Spieth trusted the superior performance of Titleist equipment from tee-to-green for his success at The Masters, including a New Pro V1x golf ball, 915D2 driver, 915F fairway metal, 915Hd hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design SM5 pitching, gap, sand and lob wedges, as well as a Scotty Cameron prototype putter. This marked his second victory of the season, after claiming the Valspar Championship last month. The young American made a record 28 birdies trusting the New Pro V1x golf ball at the tournament and moves up to second place in the Official World Golf Ranking.
As well as being the choice of the champion, Titleist golf balls were also the top choice of 54 players in the Masters field of 97, more than four times the nearest competitor with 13. This means that 5,353 players have now chosen to play a Titleist golf ball in 2015 across worldwide professional tours, more than six times the nearest competitor with 805. Titleist was also the overwhelming field favourite in the iron, wedge and putter categories, whilst Titleist drivers were just four shy of leading that category as well.
Behind Spieth, there was a host of players that trusted Titleist golf balls for their success at the tournament, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Ian Poulter (New Pro V1x) who tied for sixth place, as well as fellow Brand Ambassadors Zach Johnson (New Pro V1x), Charley Hoffman (New Pro V1x), and Pro V1x loyalist Hunter Mahan who all tied for ninth place.
Titleist golf ball loyalists have now claimed 14 victories through the first 22 events on the 2014-15 PGA Tour calendar, 11 more than the nearest competitor with 13. With Spieth’s win, nine of those victories have been earned by full product line Titleist Brand Ambassadors, which includes two wins for Spieth and Jimmy Walker, as well as further wins for Brooks Koepka, Bill Haas, and Charley Hoffman, amongst others. This takes Titleist’s 2015 worldwide golf ball wins count to 36 across worldwide professional tours, compared to 11 for the nearest competitor.
A record equalling maiden Major Championship for Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth at The Masters trusting a full bag of Titleist equipment continues to prove that the word’s best players trust in the superior performance, quality and consistency of Titleist to deliver success.
