Wolsey, one of the oldest existing clothing companies in the world, has announced the signing of three British players to represent the brand on the European Tour.

Robert Rock, Tom Lewis and James Heath have all signed multi-year agreements with Wolsey to wear its recently re-launched historic Sports Line Sportsman Collection. As part of the team of inspiring pioneers being built by Wolsey, they will work closely with the design and product development team to offer their valuable input. They will also take leading roles in the brand’s new AW14 advertising campaign starting in July. Both Rock and Lewis will make their debuts wearing Wolsey this week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

Wolsey’s Sportsman collection is made up of modern, sophisticated and stylish high-performance tailored sportswear, with a clean and subtle use of traditional British menswear colours. There is a strong focus on breathable, waterproof and multi-layered outerwear as well as performance merino polo’s, base layers and knitwear.

“Robert, Tom and James are the epitome of a Wolsey Sportsman and they are joining our team during an exciting time in our brand’s evolution,” said Louis Wolcott, Wolsey brand director.  “We are planning to recreate a team of inspiring pioneers that champion Wolsey’s spirit of adventure and demonstrate key brand messages through advertising campaigns and media activities.”

Rock, 36, is a two-time European Tour winner who returns to Abu Dhabi this week with hopes of regaining the title he won in 2012.

“I’m really impressed by the modern, clean look and attention to detail in the Sportsman collection,” said Rock. “It’s a distinctive line and performs incredibly well.”

23-year-old Tom Lewis burst onto the golf scene in 2012 winning the Silver medal as the leading amateur in the Open Championship. He made history by posting the lowest score by an amateur in the first round of the tournament and was also a member of the victorious 2011 Walker Cup team.

James Heath, 30, finished 2013 on a high claiming his PGA European Tour playing privileges for the first time since 2007. He had a superb amateur career winning both the English Amateur Championship and the Lytham Trophy in 2004.
