The R&A has endorsed the junior programme at Pravets Golf Club in Bulgaria with a generous grant of £2,000 to recognize the work commenced in 2011 to develop the game of golf at junior level in Bulgaria.
This grant has also been awarded in conjunction with the supply of junior golf sets to further help children who otherwise would struggle to buy their own.
Alan Rogut, Director of Golf at Pravets Golf Club expressed his appreciation for this grant which will allow Pravets Golf Club, managed by the international golf management company, Braemar Golf, to further the development of golf in the country at grassroots level: “The local schools will benefit from this grant which will be used to take golf instruction into the schools during the winter period and to teach children the basics of the game with the use of Snag equipment.”
During the summer months of 2013 at Pravets Golf Club, approximately two hundred children from the ages of seven to sixteen will then have the opportunity to attend golf clinics and to undergo individual tuition at the world-class Pravets Golf Academy. Those youngsters showing potential will be offered junior membership at the golf club and will be provided with a golf set, also donated by The R&A.
“Pravets Golf Club are delighted to have their efforts to grow the game of golf in the country recognized by The R&A and this will greatly assist us to further develop our junior development programme that commenced in 2011 through support provided by the PGAs of Europe,” stated Terra Tour Services CEO Lachezar Todorov.
