Greenkeepers can celebrate and share the pride in their golf courses by entering an exciting new photographic competition launched by British Seed Houses.
Golf shots of favourite holes, capturing what makes them special or different, are invited in the ‘My Course Photo Competition’ for the chance to win the top prize of an iPad. The eleven runners-up will receive British Seed Houses’ polo shirts.
The twelve best photographs will feature in a desktop calendar notepad which will be distributed to golf clubs around the country free of charge to showcase the images to a wider audience and provide a handy aid for greenkeepers.
Richard Brown, Amenity Sales Manager of British Seed Houses, said: “We know how dedicated greenkeepers are and we want them to spotlight their work and the pride they have in their courses by sending us their photos. It may be a hole which changes over the seasons or attracts wildlife, or a picture which sums up why a golf course is such an amazing place to be.
“Greenkeepers know these courses so well and see the beauty of the great outdoors all year round so this is an opportunity for them to share those special views.
“The winner will receive an iPad and this best picture will be used on the front page of the calendar notepad. We are looking for landscape-shaped photos of sufficient quality to print which have been taken any time during the last two years. There is no limit to the number of entries one person can submit. We’ll post a selection on our website as we receive them and we’d ask greenkeepers to seek permission from their clubs before they submit them.”
Photos can be sent via Twitter to @bshamenity or emailed to seeds@bshlincoln.co.uk headed ‘My Course Photo Comp’ by the closing date of 11 October 2013. They should state the sender’s name and contact details, where the photo was taken and any other details about the image which could help the judges make their decision.
