The PGA has announced a new commercial partnership with electric vehicle charging operator and renewable energy expert EVC to help improve and futureproof golf facilities throughout the UK.
EVC are the UK’s first provider of fully-funded EV charging solutions to all sectors. Their mission is to make the EV switch simple, supporting the UK’s transition to electric vehicles by helping facilities within all sectors cater for the growing numbers of EV drivers as we move towards the government’s net zero target.
Joining the Association as a Principal Partner, EVC will look to use this new relationship with The PGA to continue in their efforts to meet the ever-growing demand for EV charging at golf facilities.
Working with golf facilities across the UK, EVC will cover the cost of installation and ongoing maintenance of EV chargers, and will provide 24/7 support for PGA Members. In addition, there are revenue generation opportunities for PGA Members and their facilities based on usage of EV charge points.
PGA Members will directly benefit from the partnership through EVC’s team of expert consultants who will provide a bespoke and sustainable EV charging solution for their facility. This includes further support to make PGA Members aware of the latest developments in the EV industry.
Commenting on the announcement, David Adams, Head of Commercial at The PGA, said: “We are delighted to welcome EVC on board as a PGA Principal Partner at a time when sustainability is at the forefront of our minds.
“Partnering with EVC offers PGA Members and their golf facilities a fantastic opportunity to introduce, grow or expand their electric vehicle charging offering. By joining an ever-growing network through EVC, PGA Members can provide an effective and efficient charging experience for golfers in the time it takes for them to play a round of golf.”
Nick Ballamy, CEO of EVC, commented: “EVC is delighted to partner with The PGA, helping golf clubs across the country transition to a sustainable future. With more drivers every day making the switch to an electric vehicle, businesses are having to adapt and golf facilities are no different.
“This partnership with The PGA will give its Members a valuable opportunity to futureproof their golf clubs, ensuring that all visitors will have a convenient place to charge whilst they are out on the course.”
