The final line-up for the 2023 European Solheim team was confirmed today following the naming of the four captain’s picks to go with the eight automatic qualifiers that were announced on Sunday.
European Team captain Suzann Pettersen has picked Scotland’s Gemma Dryburgh, Sweden’s Madelene Sagström and Caroline Hedwall, as well as Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen as her four captain’s picks.
They will join qualifiers Celine Boutier, Maja Stark, Charley Hull, Georgia Hall, Leona Maguire, Linn Grant, Carlota Ciganda and playing vice-captain Anna Nordqvist in completing the 12-strong line-up to face the USA in Finca Cortesin in Spain from September 22-24.
Speaking about her team, Pettersen said: “I’m very happy with my team right now. Congratulations to the eight players who have automatically qualified, and my four captain’s picks. We have so much experience in the team and it’s great to have our rookies Maja and Linn representing Europe for the first time. We have never had such a strong group of players in terms of world ranking. The European players have been playing well this year and putting in strong performances across the board.”
