European Tour player Paul Waring has joined forces with the iron brand boasting more Major wins (61) than any other to play the new FG Tour V4 irons in 2015.
Debuting the V4 irons at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship tomorrow, the 29-year-old Englishman – who has won more than £1.7m on the European Tour – will also wear the famous Wilson Staff logo on his cap and carry the brand’s iconic Tour bag during Race to Dubai events. Former English Amateur Champion Waring joins the likes of Major winner Padraig Harrington and recent BMW Masters champion Marcel Siem as part of Wilson Staff’s Tour team for 2015.
“I’m really looking forward to putting the new FG Tour V4 irons into action as I’ve been really impressed with the performance during testing,” said Waring, who will use a set consisting of 4-iron through to pitching wedge. “Wilson Staff is the most successful irons brand in the history of the game and I hope my new equipment will help deliver more success for me too.”
Having been designed as a precision line for Tour players, the latest FG Tour V4 forged irons are now seen as a reliable option for all elite golfers looking for exceptional feel and greater ball flight control. They incorporate an 18-gram tungsten sole weight from the low irons through to 7-iron, which lowers the centre of gravity and increases the launch angle without added spin. This results in greater height on long and mid-iron shots, making it easier to attack the most difficult of pins.
“Paul is a player of enormous potential and we’re extremely pleased he’s chosen Wilson Staff as the brand to help take him onto the next level this year,” said Doug Wright, Wilson Golf’s Global Commercial Director. “His ball striking is superb and so he’s the perfect match for the new FG Tour V4 irons.”
