Australian tour professional Wade Ormsby might have had to upgrade his baggage allowance on his flight out of Edinburgh on Sunday night after winning 204 bottles of Scottish whisky for achieving the only hole-in-one at the abrdn Scottish Open.

Ormbsy struck the ace during the final round of the tournament held at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian, holing his tee shot at the par-three 12th to earn the huge haul of single malt made by the Glengoyne Distillery near Glasgow.

Ormsby went on to finish tied 12th and pick up €107,000 in prize money at the Rolex Series event. Glengoyne 10-year-old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky retails at around £30 a bottle, adding up to over £6,000 of whisky.
