The Loch Lomond Group has officially opened its new Luss Distillery, a state-of-the-art visitor destination on the banks of Loch Lomond – and the new brand home for both Loch Lomond Whiskies, Official Spirit of The Open, and Ben Lomond Scottish Gin, Official Gin of The Open.
The 5,362 sq.m site, transformed from the historic Luss Smokehouse, has been reimagined as a vibrant hub celebrating Scotland’s spirits. The new attraction serves as a dedicated joint brand home for the Group’s multi-award-winning Loch Lomond Whiskies and Ben Lomond Gin, offering visitors the opportunity to explore both brands equally – from their shared passion for craftsmanship and innovation to their deep-rooted connection with golf.
While the distillery itself is dedicated to gin production, the wider site showcases the full breadth of the Loch Lomond Group’s expertise across whisky and gin. The distillery also features an immersive and interactive whisky and gin discovery centre, which is free for visitors to explore, along with a range of bookable whisky and gin tasting experiences designed to educate and inspire.

The retail area presents the company’s wider portfolio, including Glen Scotia, Littlemill, Champagne Piaff, and a curated selection of premium spirits, making Luss Distillery a must-visit destination for whisky, gin, and golf enthusiasts alike. Conveniently located within easy reach of several of Scotland’s most prestigious golf courses – including Royal Troon, Prestwick, The Carrick at Cameron House, and Dundonald Links – it’s the perfect stop for visitors looking to combine a world-class golf experience with a memorable distillery visit.

Colin Matthews, CEO of Loch Lomond Group, said: “The opening of our new state-of-the-art Luss Distillery marks a major milestone for Loch Lomond Group. This investment reflects our commitment to innovation, quality, and growth in Scotland’s spirits industry, while also creating new jobs and supporting the local community. Luss Distillery is our new brand home – a destination where visitors can step behind the scenes, see how our whiskies and gin are crafted with passion, and experience the landscapes that inspire them.”
