Nikon has announced the signing of Ian Poulter as a full Nikon ambassador for its COOLSHOT and COOLSHOT AS Laser Rangefinders.

The Ryder Cup star and world No. 10 has signed a deal that will see him and his caddie, Terry Mundy, use Nikon Laser Rangefinders when making their weekly tournament preparations on and off the course until 2015. As part of the association, Ian’s caddie Terry Mundy will have the Nikon logo on his headwear.

Poulter has become one of the biggest names in golf since making his debut in the Ryder Cup in 2004. The European teams recent exploits in Medinah saw Poulter rocket to the top of the popularity charts thanks to his outstanding performance and passion for the matchplay format.

On signing the deal with Nikon, Poulter said: “I’ve always made sure that everything I do in my preparations for any golf tournament is of the highest standard and that mentality goes into any products that I use. Nikon’s laser rangefinders are the best around and you won’t get a more accurate reading with any other laser.

“When Ryder Cup points and Major championships are on the line, I need to be able to trust the numbers that my laser gives me when I’m making my preparations for tournaments. There’s no doubt in my mind that Nikon produce the most accurate Distance Measuring Device available today.”

Tim Hunnable, Commercial Manager Nikon UK Sport Optics said: “We are delighted to have Ian Poulter join the Nikon team as an ambassador, the passion he displays on the golf course and his ability perfectly complements the passion we put into our products and the quality results that passion yields. There is no better golfer than Ian when he is in the zone and we hope we can play a small part in helping him win his first Major tournament as soon as possible.”
