Matteo Manassero signs with FJ

FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf, has announced the signing of the former world #1 amateur Matteo Manassero to a multi-year shoe and glove deal. The young Italian put his faith in FootJoy during his elite amateur career and will continue to do so as a professional.

“Matteo is a fantastic young player who we at FootJoy are extremely excited to be working with,” commented Richard Fryer, European Marketing Manager at FootJoy. “He has some astounding achievements already in his short career, and we look forward to further success with him in the future.”

Seventeen year-old Manassero first burst on to the scene at sixteen years of age when becoming the youngest ever winner of British Amateur Championship in 2009. Since then he has taken the golf world by storm; claiming the Silver medal and 13th place in the Open Championship at Turnberry. In 2010 he became the youngest ever competitor at the Masters Tournament, and won the Silver Cup for low amateur while finishing in 36th place.

Manassero joins the industry leader at a time when the brand has significant momentum with a tremendous product line and an unparalleled stable of players.

The ultra-stable SYNR-G™ shoe category continues to be the shoes of choice for many of the game’s best players such as Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson. In addition, the new flagship shoe category, FJ ICON, delivers the perfect blend of performance and stylish elegance and has quickly attracted a loyal following from elite players Ian Poulter, Camilo Villegas, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and now Manassero.

As a new era dawns with young up and coming stars of the future it is clear FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for not only the world’s elite, but for golfers of all abilities around the world.
