Lexus supports golf development

Lexus has announced a ‘Mentoring Programme’ which forms part of their total golf sponsorship package

‘The Lexus Mentoring Programme’, recently launched by the company’s Tour ambassador, Colin Montgomerie, is designed to provide support to the top amateurs in Europe.

The initiative will be offered to 15-year old Emma Cabrera from Spain and 19-year old Barry Hume from Scotland, the two winners of the Lexus European Under 21 Championships, and will provide them with an invaluable insight into life as a competitive golfer.

Working closely with the R&A, the unions and golf federations, Monty has pledged to provide an e-mail advice and coaching facility for the two young golfers for a period of one year. Each golfer will also be eligible to receive personal coaching at the Colin Montgomerie Academy at Turnberry.

Career guidance is part of the programme. This will include personal guidance on the development of a golfing career on and off the course, media training with top journalists and tuition in sports psychology, nutrition and physiotherapy.
