Legends Tour unveils new apparel partner

3.10pm 22nd August 2024 - Sponsorship & Events

The Legends Tour has announced sportswear company Athletic Drive as its Official Apparel Partner and Official Partner for the next three years.

Established in India in 2018, Athletic Drive is a well-known brand in the subcontinent where its state-of-the-art golf apparel is manufactured.

One of the largest growing clothing and apparel brands in golf, Athletic Drive currently has stores in cities and golf clubs the length and breadth of India and has international expansion in its sights, which will be served through its partnership with the Legends Tour.

As Official Apparel Partner, Athletic Drive will provide its high-end apparel to Legends Tour staff and amateur playing experience guests.

Together, Legends Tour and Athletic Drive have exciting plans to create a dual branded range of apparel. Legends Tour fans and Staysure customers will be able to access exclusive offers from Athletic Drive as part of this new partnership agreement.

Athletic Drive will support the Legends Tour’s growth in India, a region with one of the fastest growing appetites for golf.

Athletic Drive produces a range of premium golf apparel

Dhiraj Jha, Athletic Drive CEO said: “Golf is a huge sport, as far as the Western world is concerned. In India it is in a progressive stage. There is a lot of opportunity. India has a vast amount of great golf talent. The kind of young population we have, we are lacking infrastructure, and training facilities, but, despite this, the players who are doing very, very well internationally right now, such as Milkha Singh, Randhawa, they all are the legends for us. So, there is a lot more to happen in India.”

Phil Harrison, CEO of the Legends Tour, said of the partnership: “It’s huge for us because, we’re very much a European Seniors Tour, and now we’re a global Legends tour.  We’re so thrilled to be having Athletic Drive support us with our inaugural tournament in India, The HSBC India Legends Championship, hosted by Jeev Milkha Singh in Delhi at Jaypee Greens Golf Course from August 30 to September 1.

“It’s not just having a tournament in India, which Dhiraj has been very helpful with, I think, having a global, clothing partner that’s so big in India and internationally, helps you to develop your brand across the world. Legends Tour and Athletic Drive can work together to create a range of clothing branded with Legends that we can market to our audience, which would be good for us, but more importantly, it’s good for Dhiraj and his brand.”

The Athletic Drive apparel will be first worn by the team at next week’s HSBC India Legends Championship hosted by Jeev Milkha Singh which is Legends Tour’s first event in India, being played at Jaypee Greens Golf Course at the end of August.

The tournament is also sanctioned by the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and will see 10 Indian golfers taking part in the tournament, including the host as well as fellow Legends Tour member Jyoti Randhawa.
