Chinese Taipei’s Lee Chieh-po earned a spot on the LIV Golf League for next season after winning the LIV Golf Promotions event held at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.
Lee, 30, who is a regular competitor on the Asian Tour, shot a 36-hole total of 10 under par to win by two shots and claim the first prize and a coveted spot on next year’s LIV Golf schedule, which guarantees $50,000 for the last-placed finisher in its regular season events.
“It means a lot for our players,” said Lee, who won for the first time at this year’s International Series Thailand. “LIV Golf, I think it’s many players’ dream. I go there and they will come.”
A total of 92 players began the week in Riyadh hoping for a chance to join LIV Golf, with only the top 20 players going forward to the final two rounds.
All players finishing inside the top 10 receive exemptions to all 10 tournaments on The International Series in 2025. Six players on the final leaderboard previously did not have that status: American Ollie Schniederjans and Australians Brett Coletta and Jack Buchanan, who shared fourth at 5 under; Germany’s Max Rottluff, solo seventh at 4 under; and Korea’s Soomin Lee and England’s David Horsey, part of the four-way tie for eighth at 3 under.
