Therabody, the global leader in tech wellness and the creators of the Theragun, has announced a partnership with David Leadbetter and the Leadbetter Golf Academy as its Official Recovery Partner.

Golf has seen a significant surge since 2020, up by about 500 million rounds as people looked for ways to spend moretime outdoors. As more people are hitting the course and looking to perfect their golf game, many are feeling the strain on muscles they don’t normally use. Therabody solutions can enable golfers to increase their playing frequency and improve their golf game through proper warm-up and faster recovery in between rounds and sessionson the range.

“We’re proud to partner with Therabody and integrate its portfolio into our students’ regimen,” explains David Leadbetter. “If you can improve your health through your golf game, you’ve got a win-winsituation. I’m a big believer in trying to promote all aspects in order to help somebody feel better and play better, andTherabody is a big part of that.”

Leadbetter, world-renowned coach to an impressive roster of professional and amateur golfers who have won a totalof 26 major championships, incorporates Therabody solutions into his pre-, during-, and post-round routines. Some ofthe ways he encourages his students to use Therabody include:

Preventing golf ailments: Many players can develop lower back pain and elbow discomfort from thedynamic and repetitive motions of the golf swing. Golfers—and anyone who suffers from this type ofdiscomfort—can find relief by using a Theragun with the Supersoft foam tip all around the problem area and applying  TheraOne Revive CBD Body to help ease soreness. The Therabody app also has specific routines designed by experts from Therabody University to help combatthese common ailments.

Perfecting the swing: Using Theragun improves flexibility and mobility, essential for golfers to improvetheir swing and performance on the golf course, and help reduce risk of injury. Leadbetter encourages hisstudents to use the Theragun mini while on the course to help relieve pain or fatigue and ensure they get themost from their game from the first tee to the 18th green.

Relaxing after play: The lower body can become stiff from a full round of golf. Following a session, golfersshould roll their feet with Wave Solo then sit back, relax, and use RecoveryAir on their legs while they recap their best shots.

“Golf requires unique movements that put a lot of strain on muscles and bodies overall. As a golfer myself, preparing my body before walking on the course has been key to improving my game,” says Dr Jason Wersland,Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody. “From warm ups, during the round or practice, to post game recovery, we’re thrilled to partner with the Leadbetter Golf Academy to help students perform and recover better.”

The Leadbetter Golf Academy approaches coaching through a lens of holistic wellness, emphasizing the mental, technical, and physical parts of golf. Tapping into the physical component and learning how to take care of the body not only allows students to meet their full potential in golf, but also increases their overall wellness.
