India is set to become the latest and the 25th stop on the 2007 Ladies European Tour (LET) schedule when the country plays host to the Indian Ladies Masters in December.
Co-sanctioned by the LET, the Women’s Golf Association of India and the Indian Golf Union, the inaugural event, carrying a prize purse of €200,000, will be promoted and organised by ‘golf in DUBAI‘ from December 5 to 8, 2007 at a venue soon to be announced.
“The Ladies European Tour is delighted to be visiting India for the first time in its history,” said Alexandra Armas, the LET’s executive director while announcing the landmark event.
“This new tournament consolidates the LET’s growth internationally and provides further evidence of the attention that our sport is attracting worldwide,” she said. “I would like to thank ‘golf in DUBAI‘ for promoting this event — the 26th on the LET schedule — on behalf of the Ladies European Tour. This follows a very successful inaugural Dubai Ladies Masters last year and we are looking forward to collaborating with them once more on this fantastic new event in India.”

The Women’s Golf Association of India, along with the Indian Golf Union, is “proud and privileged” to be associated with the Indian Ladies Masters.

The tournament comes as part of ‘golf in DUBAI’s ambitious drive to expose the Emirate’s rapidly-growing golfing portfolio of world-class courses on the global stage.
