The Ladies European Tour announce that Mark Lichtenhein and Michael Siebold have joined the Board as Non-Executive Directors.
Ladies European Tour Chairman, Helena Alterby Nordström, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark and Michael to the Ladies European Tour and we are certain that they will contribute greatly to the success of the company, bringing a wealth of experience, insight, connections and drive to deliver on the LET’s strategy.”
Mark Lichtenhein was with the European Tour for 16 years and until recently was Head of Television, Digital Media and Technology. He was pivotal in delivering the European Tour’s global television product including the Ryder Cup to all international markets. He has an unrivalled understanding of the golf business and brings with him a wealth of contacts and insight to LET. During his time at the European Tour, Mark was a keen supporter of the Ladies European Tour and worked closely alongside LET on a number of projects.
Mark Lichtenhein said: “I am thrilled with the opportunity to be involved with the Ladies European Tour and to build upon the successful platforms that have been put in place in recent years. These are exciting times for women’s sport in general and for golf in particular, given the sport’s return to the Olympic Games in Rio next year. I very much look forward to contributing to its development and driving innovation in its delivery.”
Michael Siebold comes from a strong golf background where he served as general manager of the prestigious Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee in Germany for 11 years. He loves the game of golf (Hcp. 4), is
very supportive of women’s golf and shares LET’s ambition to grow the game to new heights. Michael is founding president of the Rotary Club Berlin-Mitte and now runs his own real estate business in Berlin.
Michael Siebold said: “Women’s golf is very attractive to watch and has a great future. We all together have to support the efforts of the LET to convince companies that now is the perfect time to invest in women’s golf because the price-performance ratio at the Ladies European Tour for sponsors is excellent.”
