The Belfry Hotel & Resort cemented its reputation as a world-renowned golfing destination with the success of its first-ever Belfry Classic Golf Day, which raised £110,000 for charity.
The exclusive event, held on May 22, saw celebrities from across the worlds of sport and entertainment – including Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, Line of Duty and Peaky Blinders actor Nigel Boyle, football legend Alan McInally, and influencers Fore Bros, play 18 holes on the resort’s world-famous Brabazon course.
The money raised from the event will support two of The Belfry’s life-changing partner charities – Hospitality Action and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Hosted by sports presenter and broadcaster Dan Walker, the invite-only event was complemented by an array of on-course activities, including a ‘Beat the Pro’ hole with former DP World Tour player Robert Rock; the chance to win a golf buggy from John Deere with a hole-in-one; and ‘Curry on the Course’, mid-round exquisite Indian cuisine from gourmet restaurant Five Rivers À La Carte.
The Belfry Classic, which was sponsored by Turkish Airlines and Elliott Group, also included a gala dinner designed by celebrity chef and Great British Menu winner Tom Shepherd, who showcased his winning ‘No Ordinary Schoolboy’ dessert. This is as well as an all-day BBQ, multiple drinks receptions, an exhilarating live auction with fantastic prizes, an unforgettable afterparty in the resort’s Brabazon Bar, and entertainment from live band, Apollo Soul.

Choreographer and former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan commented: “The whole golf day was so good. Everyone I spoke to said it was the best one ever – the Belfry team, the organisation and the evening event were next level.”
Charlotte Taylor, Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive at MND Association, said: “We had an incredible day and are so grateful for the amazing support. The evening was even better than the day, with so many generous bids on the auction. So much hard work clearly went into the day, and it showed. The Belfry hospitality really is something – easily the best golf day ever!”
Hospitality Action added: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the Belfry Classic Golf Day such an incredible success. This inaugural event was the perfect blend of golf, networking and celebration. Thanks to everyone at The Belfry who worked so hard to make the day possible. It was truly a day to remember.”
Chris Eigelaar, Resort Director at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, said: “We were overwhelmed by the phenomenal response we received from everyone who took part in our first-ever Belfry Classic. With a fantastic lineup of players, our iconic course, incredible food and entertainment, and a reputation for hosting prestigious tournaments, the day truly became a standout event.
“It was all made possible thanks to the incredible teamwork and dedication shown by everyone involved. We’re immensely proud of what we achieved and are already looking forward to making the 2026 Belfry Classic even bigger and better.”
