Glenmuir, the leading golf and leisurewear company, who have for many years been title sponsor of the PGA Club Professional Championship for British and Irish professionals, and who already have close links with several other European PGAs, are extending their commitment to European golf.
All 34 of the PGAs of Europe member, and associate member countries, are invited to enter three-man teams in the championship, now strengthened by its Glenmuir support, which is for club professionals across the continent and beyond. Associate members of the PGAsE include New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
“This link with the International Team Championship is important to Glenmuir on two fronts,” explained Andy Bough, sales and marketing director of the Scotland-based company, in welcoming the arrangement.
“We have enjoyed a close relationship with the PGA for many years and we are delighted to extend this association across Europe and further afield,” he added “Glenmuir already does business with PGA professionals all over Europe, and this new partnership with the PGAs of Europe gives us a valuable point of contact with existing and future customers.
Also, with the closer involvement of the PGAs of Europe in the new structure of the Ryder Cup, this partnership enables us to make an even bigger contribution to the development of the game of golf beyond our home market.”
The International Team Championship grows in interest and prestige every year as leading club professionals enjoy the opportunity of a week of intense competition in Mediterranean conditions, in tandem with the staging of the PGAs of Europe annual congress followed by the annual awards night.
Glenmuir (motto: At the Heart of the Game of Golf) is synonymous with quality golf and leisurewear for players at all levels of the game, and has designed and developed shirts and knitwear for successive European Ryder Cup Teams since 1987.
