Frilford Heath Golf Club‘s incoming club captains have chosen local charity Be Free Young Carers as their fundraising beneficiary for 2026.
After raising £30,000 for Homeless Oxfordshire in 2025, the club launched its fundraising for Be Free Young Carers on February 1 as it officially welcomed its men’s and lady captains.
Tony Weir (continuing as men’s captain from last year) and Caroline Pearce marked the start of their captaincy year with the club’s captain’s drive-in on the championship Red Course.
Be Free Young Carers, based in Oxfordshire, supports young people aged 8 to 17 who have caring responsibilities for family members. The charity helps young carers rediscover their childhood, build confidence and develop meaningful connections alongside the challenges they face at home. It provides emotional support, social activities and opportunities that make a real and lasting difference to young carers and their families across the region.
Russell Stebbings, Managing Director at Frilford Heath, said: “We are incredibly proud to support Be Free Young Carers as our Charity of the Year. The work they do for young people across Oxfordshire is truly inspiring and we are looking forward to bringing the Frilford Heath membership together to raise funds and awareness for such an important local cause.”
Throughout the year, Frilford Heath Golf Club and its captains will host a series of fundraising events, including auctions, raffles and flagship Captains’ Day tournaments, with all proceeds supporting Be Free Young Carers. These events form a central part of the club’s annual calendar and encourage members to come together in support of the local community.
