Walker Cup star Angus Flanagan has signed an apparel deal with Oscar Jacobson as he embarks on his professional career.
Flanagan, who joins the brand as a playing ambassador, has spent the last four years honing his craft at Minnesota University in the US. He took the decision to turn professional a few weeks ago following an impressive showing at the 45th Walker Cup at Seminole Golf Club in Florida where he remained undefeated during GB&I’s narrow 14-12 loss.
“Angus is such an exciting player to watch,” commented Graeme Stevens, Managing Director of Worldwide Golf Brands, which distributes Oscar Jacobson products in the UK. “His performance at the Walker Cup really captured our attention. The GB&I team were huge underdogs and really held their nerve to push the Americans to the wire. Angus’s 30-foot putt on the last was real highlight of the event, and we are delighted to have him as an Oscar Jacobson player in his first professional season.”
Flanagan will remain stateside as he joins The PGA Tour’s Forme Tour. This is a newly formed eight-tournament schedule running through the summer, with the top-five scorers earning 2021-22 Korn Ferry Tour membership.
Flanagan will be wearing garments from the latest Oscar Jacobson range as he takes to the fairways for the season-opener, the L&J Golf Championship at Jennings Mill Country Club in Georgia later this month.
