The 2016 Golfbreaks.com Fourball Championship will take place at Lumine Mediterránea Beach & Golf Club’s Lakes and Hills Courses from 10 – 12 February, 2016.
Up to 120 PGA Professionals Pairs will compete for a minimum guaranteed prize fund of €31,250 that will increase by €250 with each additional entry beyond 25 teams. Entries are now being accepted and are open to all male and female classified PGA members and trainees within a PGAs of Europe member country.
In 2015 95 pairs competed in the Championship that was won by PGA of Great Britain & Ireland Professionals, Matthew Cort and Craig Shave, who carded an eight-under 64 in their final round to claim the 2015 title and the winners’ cheque for €6,400.
Adam Ward, Director of Golf Pro Relations for Golfbreaks.com said: “We are delighted to once again be sponsoring the Fourball Championship in 2016. It’s a tournament that is growing in reputation each year at a superb venue that is perfectly positioned to host this prestigious event. We have an excellent relationship with the PGAs of Europe and are committed to working closely with them and their members as more and more professionals use Golfbreaks.com for their golf travel needs.”
“We can’t wait to have the Fourball competitors back at Lumine again,” said General Manager, Calle Carlsson. “We are very proud to host the tournament and it is always a pleasure to welcome so many PGA Professionals to the Costa Daurada.
“We hope the Championship will build on the record number of Professional pairs that played last year, and we’re thankful to the Costa Daurada Tourist Board, as well as the local tourism agencies, for their help in making the event a continued success.”
