The Belfry Hotel & Resort, in West Midlands, is delighted to announce Elliott Group and Turkish Airlines as the headline sponsors for its first-ever Belfry Classic Golf Day.

The exclusive event will take place on the award-winning resort’s legendary The Brabazon golf course, which has been home to the renowned Ryder Cup more times than any other course in the world.

Turkish Airlines, Türkiye’s flag carrier, was awarded the Guinness World Record for ‘Most Countries Flown to by Airline’ in December 2024. The airline has also been chosen the ‘Best Airline in Europe’ eight times at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Nurturing a strong relationship with Turkish Airlines, The Belfry has been the proud host of its annual golf day for the past 10 years and has collaborated with the company on multiple high-profile events.

Elliott Group is one of the most respected construction firms in the UK and Ireland and is leading the build of a state-of-the-art new Leisure Club at The Belfry which is due to open in September. This follows on from its successful refurbishment of the bedrooms and bar at the iconic golfing destination, as well as the expansion of the resort’s restaurant, The Ryder Grill.

Taking place on Thursday May 22, the invite-only Belfry Classic Golf Day will be hosted by esteemed sports presenter and award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Dan Walker. Celebrities from the world of sport, including football, cricket, horseracing, rugby and athletics, as well as those from music and TV, will come together to play in a thrilling four-ball formation on The Brabazon. The championship course, which has produced some of the most dramatic moments in golf’s history, has hosted the prestigious Betfred British Masters since 2022.

Serhat Gok, General Manager at Turkish Airlines, said: “We are happy to be a part of the inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day. At Turkish Airlines, we take pride in not only bridging continents through our extensive global network but also fostering meaningful connections through the universal language of sports. This event is a testament to our passion for sports and bringing people and cultures together. “

Helping to ensure those who work tirelessly for others have the funding they need to carry out their vital work, proceeds from the inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day will go towards two of The Belfry’s life-changing charity partners. For the second year running, the resort is raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, a national charity dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by MND, as well as improving access to care and funding research. The Belfry is also continuing its long-standing and unwavering support for Hospitality Action. Providing relief for hospitality workers in crisis, the charity is a safety net for its service users, supplying everything from financial assistance to mental health resources.

Noel Elliott, CEO UK of Elliott Group, said: “Elliott Group is incredibly proud to be a headline sponsor of the Belfry Classic Golf Day; a once-in-a-lifetime event at a venue renowned for its excellence and legacy in golf. As a business, we’re particularly proud to support the MND Association and Hospitality Action and, in so doing, we’re hoping to make a meaningful difference for those affected by MND, their families, and individuals in the hospitality sector facing challenges.”

Alongside the action on the greens, the first-ever Belfry Classic Golf Day will also include an all-day BBQ, live entertainment, multiple drinks receptions, a luxurious gala dinner, an enthralling live auction with some surprise lots, and much more – including an unforgettable after-party!
