Danish shoemaker ECCO announces that it will serve as an official sponsor of the Ladies European Tour (LET) for 2010, extending its partnership for a seventh year.
As part of the agreement, ECCO will be showcased at LET events, on the Tour’s website and in its promotional materials. LET staff will continue wearing the brand’s distinctive golf shoes during all on-course activities, as well as ECCO dress shoes during all company functions.
“We’ve seen a great development of the Tour over the years as it has become more international, which is directly in line with our position as the global leader in luxury footwear,” says Jesper Thuen, Sponsorship & Event Manager, ECCO Golf. “We look forward to providing the members of the LET with our outstanding comfort and distinguished styling.”
ECCO will offer complimentary footwear to every LET member in exemption categories 1-8, provided they agree to wear them exclusively during all competitions. The company will also provide footwear contracts to the top-10 players from the LET Q-School, as well as three pairs of golf shoes to each of the top-30 qualifiers.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with ECCO, the market leader for comfortable, quality, luxury golf shoes,” adds Alexandra Armas, executive director of the LET. “For the last seven years, ECCO has been an active partner of the LET and we appreciate the company’s ongoing support.”
ECCO golf shoes are worn in competition by Iben Tinning, Linda Wessberg, Carin Koch, Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Thomas Bjorn, John Bickerton, Arjun Atwal, Bradley Dredge and others. The company’s 2010 collection, highlighted by the trend-setting Golf Street hybrid sport-casual shoe, is currently available worldwide.
Guaranteeing a level of quality that cannot be matched by any major footwear manufacturer, each ECCO golf shoe is made using a proprietary, direct-injection process. Touched by more than 225 sets of highly-skilled hands during production, each model is a testament to the brand’s unrivalled attention to detail that helps discerning players look, feel and play their best.
