As the European Tour season came to a conclusion at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, Titleist golf ball loyalist Matt Fitzpatrick placed his trust in the performance excellence of the Pro V1x ball to claim his second DP World Tour Championship title.
Posting four rounds in the 60s, including a final round 68, Fitzpatrick posted a 15-under total to finish one shot clear of fellow Englishman Lee Westwood (Pro V1x), who won the season-long Race to Dubai for the third time in his career.
In addition to using a Titleist ball, Fitzpatrick also had Titleist’s TSi3 driver and fairway in his bag, alongside two Vokey Design SM8 wedges (56 and 60).
At the event, Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice, with 72% of the field using a Pro V1 or Pro V1x. Titleist was the brand with the most drivers in play at the season finale – 19 – 17 of which were new TSi2 and TSi3 models.
This season, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls have been most played golf balls around the world, with 15,282 players playing a Pro V1 or Pro V1x – more than eight times the nearest competitor. This led to a total of 112 worldwide wins in the 2019/20 season, more than four times its nearest competitor with 23.
