De Boer has been appointed to provide temporary structures at the world famous Gleneagles Resort and will build the majority of the structures in The Ryder Cup Tented Village using its Delta pavilions. The Delta will be used for the Champagne and Seafood Restaurant, The Ryder Cup Bar, Public Catering, the Merchandise Pavilion and the Tay Club hospitality complex.
In addition, De Boer has also designed a contemporary Premier Double Deck ground floor base, designed specifically for projects which demand more spectator capacity, with a 15m x 80m curved roof Anova Vista on the first floor, the company’s latest event innovation. De Boer’s latest product development sets a new standard for Double Tier hospitality pavilions, providing a perfect spectator environment for the Tweed Club hospitality site on the second hole.
De Boer has a long running history of providing temporary structures for golf tournaments including the World Golf Championships, The Senior Open Championship, the Volvo Masters and the KLM Open; this will be the company’s sixth time at the Ryder Cup.
This year, up to 45,000 spectators are expected per day to watch the European team take on their counterparts from the United States over the 18 holes of Gleneagles’ PGA Centenary Course. Coincidentally, both Gleneagles Hotel and De Boer will be celebrating their 90th anniversaries.
Edward Kitson, Ryder Cup Match Director, said: “De Boer UK has been a long-standing supporter of both The European Tour and The Ryder Cup and the Premier Anova structure will make an excellent home for the Tweed Club hospitality suite, providing an enviable spectator spot for the day’s events.”
John A Cochrane, De Boer UK Sales Director, commented: “We are delighted to be working alongside the organisers of The Ryder Cup to provide the structures in the Tented Village and the Tweed Club. I was born in Perth and so this is the most special of places for me. We also hope that this year’s new Premier Anova combination on the second hole will be a real step forward in terms of innovation and style.”
