The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland returns to the magnificent Archerfield Links in East Lothian, from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st August 2014.
In a year when the eyes of the golfing world will turn to Scotland, the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open will again occupy a prime spot on the Ladies European Tour schedule, attracting some of the best female golfers on Tour including two time, reigning champion, Catriona Matthew.
The free to attend event will also follow hot on the heels of the European Tour’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen in July, and will take place a month ahead of one of the world’s biggest sporting tournaments and the leading event on the global golf calendar, The 2014 Ryder Cup, at Gleneagles.
Martin Gilbert, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Asset Management said “As proud supporters of Scottish golf we are very happy to be entering into our sixth year as title sponsor of the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. Having supported Scottish golf for over 15 years we are really looking forward to what 2014 has in store and to play our part of a great sporting year in Scotland.”
Paul Bush, Chief Operating Officer at EventScotland said: “The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open is a key event on the Ladies European Tour, and we are delighted to continue our relationship with the tournament as part of our commitment to bringing world-class golf events to Scotland every year. Scotland is known throughout the world as the ‘Home of Golf’, and events like the Ladies Scottish Open are hugely important as we look to build on what will be a very special year in 2014 for Scotland and Scottish golf.”
The event’s unique format will again see the professional golfers playing alongside an amateur field, which will include a number of celebrities who will also be taking to the magnificent Fidra course at Archerfield Links.
Tom Younger of Archerfield Links said “We are delighted to again be hosting the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. With a great title sponsor, the event has gone from strength to strength in recent years and it is great to see the players enjoy the unique event format and the atmosphere that surrounds it. It was great to see Scotland’s very own Catriona Matthew win for the second time this year and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2014.”
Andrew White, Chief Executive of event promoter WSM Communications said “We are pleased to be promoting this exciting event for the seventh time, working once again with the Ladies European Tour at the world class Archerfield Links. We are thankful to Aberdeen Asset Management and EventScotland for their continued support of ladies golf in Scotland.
