Bushnell Golf retained its position as the most used distance-measuring device by the world’s best players at the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.
Leading sports research agency Sports Marketing Surveys (SMS) reported 95.1% of the 2022 Open Championship field used a Bushnell laser rangefinder to obtain their yardages during practice rounds. Additionally, survey statistics also showed Bushnell remains the firm choice of caddies with 96.1% using a Bushnell rangefinder in the run up to the four days of the championship.
From a survey of 156 players at the season’s final major, 135 stated that they were using a Bushnell device.
Since measuring device usage recording began in 2006, Bushnell has claimed the top spot among Tour players every year, and once again with one of the most competitive fields in golf, Bushnell has been the distance measuring device of choice for Tour Players.
Bushnell’s topline DMDs now include ‘Slope with Elements’ a new feature that not only accounts for changes in elevation to the target, but also factors such as barometric pressure and temperature to provide golfers the most precise compensated distances needed to execute precise shots.
Derek Schuman, Senior Brand Manager at Bushnell Golf, said: “Our mission is to provide the best distance measuring devices for golfers. The SMS Open Survey confirms Bushnell laser rangefinders are definitively the most trusted brand on Tour. Our dominance in the market extends beyond professional golfers as well, as nearly 7 out of every 10 laser rangefinders sold around the world are Bushnell. We created the golf measuring device category more than 25 years ago and have led the way in innovation ever since.”
Darren Bragg, Bushnell’s EMEA Commercial Manager commented: “It is great to see that such an overwhelming number of both players and caddies continue to trust Bushnell Golf at such an iconic event as the 150th Open at St Andrews.”
The Bushnell Pro XE (£449) is the model used by most Tour players. Two other laser rangefinders, the Tour V5 Slim (£300) and Tour V5 Shift Slim (£360), also offer Bushnell quality and accuracy at lower price points.
Bushnell Gol also has a range of GPS distance measuring devices that includes the Phantom 2 Slope (£149) and the ION Edge Watch (£149).
