12.06pm 6th September 2024 - Sponsorship & Events

EDGA, in partnership with RSM UK, is delighted to unveil the details of the highly anticipated 2024 RSM European Play-off Series. Taking place from September 10th to 12th at the prestigious North Hants Golf Club, England, this event will feature 32 of Europe’s finest golfers with disabilities competing in a thrilling three-day match-play knockout tournament.

The tournament will feature four divisions: Net, Stableford, Gross, and Women’s Play-offs, showcasing the remarkable talent of these athletes from 14 countries as they vie for top honours. As the competition heats up, the fairways of North Hants Golf Club will be alive with the spirit of determination, skill, and sportsmanship, offering an unmissable spectacle for fans of the game.

The tournament players will also get to meet RSM Golf Ambassador Alice Hewson on the final day of the competition. Alice recently won the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open in June, her second Ladies European Tour title to date. As a strong supporter of EDGA and an advocate for women’s golf, Alice will join a number of the competitors to play together on chosen holes at the North Hants event.

This marks the fourth year that leading audit, tax, and consulting firm RSM UK has lent its support to this now established tournament in golf’s international calendar. With this continued backing, the 2024 series promises to be the most exciting yet, underscoring golf’s status as an inclusive sport that provides physical and mental health benefits to players of all abilities.

Tony Bennett, president of EDGA, commented: “The RSM European Play-off Series offers a truly electrifying format for developing golfers. We are proud to welcome back the leading European Net and Stableford players from the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), while also introducing the Gross and Women’s Play-offs to the tournament. This year’s qualifiers embody a deep passion for golf and an indomitable competitive drive, which has earned them their place at the top of the European rankings.”

Bennett continued: “These elements have the power to inspire countless others with disabilities to take up golf and thrive, whether they are new to the sport and seeking a positive fresh activity, or seasoned golfers aiming to push their boundaries further.”

Beyond the excitement of the competition itself, several new participants will be invited to try golf on the range, reinforcing the event’s broader mission to grow the game at a grassroots level.

“As the countdown to the 2024 RSM European Play-off Series begins, anticipation is building for what promises to be an unforgettable event.”

Nick Sladden, partner and EDGA advocate at RSM UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting EDGA’s latest event at North Hants Golf Club. Throughout our time as lead sponsors, the Play-off Series has continued to grow from strength to strength – not just in profile, but in the incredible talent that we’ve seen taking part in the tournament. Our involvement in the Play-off Series has allowed us to witness first-hand the positive impact that that golf can have on people with disabilities and will hopefully go a long way in inspiring others to take up the sport.

“At RSM, our commitment to supporting EDGA is as strong as ever and we look forward to continue working with them to raise awareness around the inclusive nature of golf.”
