The annual Golf Trust Open welcomed 50 golfers with disability to The Shire London on July 28, with Kris Aves lifting the trophy after scoring an impressive 39 points.
Kris, who was a serving Metropolitan Police Officer, sustained a spinal cord injury during the Westminster terrorist attacks in 2017. He returned to playing golf using a paragolfer through The Golf Trust, just a few years later and since gone on to represent Team Europe in two editions of The Cairns Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event for disability golfers.

The Golf Trust Open Division Champions 2025 were:
- Jake Taylor: 0-18 handicap category
- Bryan Banham: 19-27 handicap category
- Cedric Bloch: 28+ category
- Alfie Sherwood: Winner of the Challenge Cup (no handicap).
“Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the day,” commented Golf Trust founder Cae Menai-Davis. “This event is always such a fantastic celebration of disability and golf. It also shows the power that golf has to bring people together. Congratulations to Kris and all the other division winners.”
The event was supported by volunteers from Mercedes, Laureus Sport and Irwin Mitchell.
