Online auction of ‘Museum quality golf memorabilia’

8.36am 15th June 2012 - Salesroom & Memorabilia

PGA's letter to Sam Ryder dated 10th April 1929

‘Museum quality golf memorabilia’ sums up the latest online auction offerings by Graham Rowley at OldSportsAuction.com the best known and longest established online golf auction website in the world.

Rowley tells GBN he has never been more excited.

“Our many contacts in the golf world have come up trumps,” he said. “We have a superb selection of signed items including an incredibly rare ‘signed greeting message’ to British Golfers from the first USA Walker Cup team to ever visit the U.K. in 1923

“Early Open Champions signature! Including a unique Tom Kidd signed cabinet card from 1873, US Open winners, Masters winner’s and many more.”

Add to the list a rare collection of unique Samuel Ryder-owned items, photos, books and postcards and this is one auction that will delight collectors and investors alike.

The letter to Samuel Ryder is from the PGA PGA to tell him that they (PGA) did not any of the 1929 Team to receive money apart from their out of pocket expenses; it looks as if Sam, for his part, did want to pay team members.

Also in the auction are Open Championship player’s badges, gold medals, a 1957 Ryder Cup Bag used by team member Max Faulkner, books, clubs, artwork.

There’s something for everyone,” said Graham. “It is free to register and takes but one minute.”

The auction runs through to 30th June. Email: equiries@oldsportsauction.com
