Under Armour reports strong demand at retail for new Clone shoe

Latest golf shoe release from UA enjoys positive response from consumers and retailers

Under Armour’s new Drive Pro Clone shoe, which was launched last week, has made a strong start at retail, with leading accounts across the UK and Europe reporting exceptional early demand following launch and strong consumer interest.

That strong opening has been echoed across the trade, with several partners describing Drive Pro Clone as their most successful footwear release to date, driven by high consumer interest and encouraging early sales performance.

Bradley Stubbs, Director at Scottsdale Golf, said: “The launch of the new Under Armour Drive Pro Clone golf shoe has been a huge success for us at Scottsdale Golf, performing exceptionally well across all digital channels. It is clear golfers are excited. It’s a great shoe and the response from our audience has reflected that.”

Lewis Ashcroft, Head of Social Growth at Clarkes Golf, added: “The UA Drive Pro Clone launch has been our most successful footwear release to date. From day one, demand has been exceptionally strong, with sales exceeding expectations and continuing to build momentum. Customer feedback across our social platforms has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly around comfort, fit and the overall look of the shoe.”

The team at J & J Golf at Hartford Golf Centre reported a similarly impressive response, commenting: “The New Clone Shoe is in our opinion the perfect golf shoe. A bold statement. We have got off to a hot start with sales, seeing customers feel the comfort and the improved fit of the auxetic material to a point where there is no compromise in the way the shoe fits their feet.

“The shoes look phenomenal too. Sleek design married with exceptional comfort means they fit perfectly in all the right places. Not only do these shoes look great and fit perfectly, they are next level in performance too. Through our testing process we saw noticeable gains in distance, ball speed and clubhead speed when using Clone. This isn’t luck; this is genius design. Under Armour, we think you have possibly made the best golf shoe the market has ever seen.”

Elliott Smith from Portsmouth Golf Centre added: “As soon as I saw the sample, I thought it was the best-looking Under Armour golf shoe I had seen since being involved with the brand. Since launch, we’ve had customers coming in specifically asking about the shoe and wanting to try it on. With the custom-fit upper moulding to the foot with every wear, having a comfortable, supportive and performing golf shoe has never been so easy.”

Supporting the strong retail performance, Drive Pro Clone has also secured its third DP World Tour victory already, including a second win in three weeks during launch week in Qatar — an early signal of the performance credibility behind one of the season’s most talked-about footwear releases.

Purpose-built in-store installations have further strengthened the launch, creating impactful retail theatre and helping golfers understand the benefits of the adaptive auxetic upper at point of purchase.

With strong early sales, influential retail backing, a compelling margin opportunity and immediate Tour validation, Drive Pro Clone is rapidly establishing itself as one of the standout launches of 2026.
