Tourflex by Proquip – a new movement in professional weatherwear

ProQuip’s best ever performing rain suit features exclusive ultra-lightweight, super-stretchable ‘second skin’ fabric technology with striking Tour styling.

ProQuip, the world’s leading innovator of lightweight golf weatherwear and Preferred Supplier to the European Ryder Cup Team 2010, has unveiled TourFlex, the first all-over stretchable rain suit in its 28 year history.

The breakthrough TourFlex fabric, developed exclusively by ProQuip over the past three years, features complete super-stretch performance enabling all golfers – from club players to tournament professionals – to swing freely and athletically, as if they were wearing a lightweight second skin. It also features striking modern styling with a slimmer, sports cut.

What makes TourFlex special is its two-way stretch fabric, made with a fine plain weave rather than a knit, as with most stretchable fabrics. This enables the whole garment to be made with super-stretchable fabric, not just stretch panels, making it the lightest, quietest and easy-to-swing-in rain suit with a waterproof outer that ProQuip has ever produced.

The technology has already been made available to Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie, who is working closely with ProQuip on a number of fabrics and designs for the European Team suit for next year’s matches at The Celtic Manor Resort.

ProQuip Chief Designer Richard Head said: “ProQuip has been the leading developer of ultra-lightweight weatherwear fabrics for nearly 30 years, but I can I honestly say TourFlex is the best rain suit we have ever produced.

“My vision was to create a lightweight, stretchable fabric that performed like a second skin – and that is precisely what we have achieved. You can swing in a TourFlex jacket and hardly know it is on, it is so easy to play in. In my opinion, TourFlex represents a whole new level of performance in athletic golf weatherwear.”

TourFlex, with its ultra-lightweight waterproof stretch outer fabric, has enabled ProQuip to create a slimmer fitting, athletic cut with Tour inspired styling and three-way colours. The high-performance fabric, with integrated weatherwear features including waterproof zips, is available in an array of sizes (S-XXXL) and colours with matching trousers and, like all ProQuip rain suits, is guaranteed for three years. The suggested retail price is £250.
