Titleist has strengthened its club and ball fitting team in Ireland with the appointment of PGA Professional Darren Walsh.
Walsh joins Titleist from Wexford Golf Club, where he spent 10 years working on all aspects of the game, including coaching, product sales and club fitting.
The appointment sees him join two other experienced Titleist club specialists and fitters in Ireland, Mark O’Mahony and Peter McClelland, both of whom have a collective 14 years’ experience conducting events and servicing retailers and consumers in the region.
Speaking about the new signing, Titleist Brand Director Michael Creighton said: “Ireland is a core region for Titleist given the dedication and passion players there have for the game of golf. Last year, we had some tremendous results in Ireland and the appointment of Darren allows us to build on that success in the years to come.”
While McClelland will continue to cover Northern Ireland and the North of Ireland, with O’Mahony overseeing Titleist’s National Fitting Centre at Carton House and the Dublin area, Walsh’s remit covers Mid, South East and the South West of Ireland. The three-strong team will also assist each other at local events throughout the course of the year, ensuring consumers receive the best possible service through dedicated club and ball fittings.
Walsh said: “It is an exciting time for Titleist, following this year’s launch of the new Pro V1 golf ball and the strong line-up we have with the TS Metals family. Having played Titleist equipment throughout my career, it’s a brand I am very familiar with, so I’m looking forward to taking the fantastic products on the road to help golfers get the most out of their games.”
