Protoconcept Golf, a Japanese-owned premium golf club manufacturer, has announced the opening of the company’s first offices and a distribution warehouse in the United States.
The move stems from unprecedented growth in North America and to advance the operations and evolution of the company.
“We’re thrilled to establish Protoconcept Golf in the United States, said Yasufumi Kawasaki, founder of Protoconcept Golf. “This organisation of resources and support services will help us provide the foundation for our new growth initiatives. We will continue to work closely with the team in Japan and deliver the highest quality golf equipment possible.”
The company has also set up its warehouse in Irvine, California, where the facility will store and ship its full range of golf equipment. Staff and services will be found close to the warehouse in Orange County, California. The brand will be managed in the US by Smiling Ducks, Inc.
Marcy Kamoda, CEO of Protoconcept Golf, added: “This is strategic and important for Protoconcept Golf. This move will provide the infrastructure for us to better serve our burgeoning accounts, dealers, and the professional tours. It will help to continue to build on our current momentum and sales in the United States.”
With products stateside, Director of Tour Operations Rusty Estes can design, build, fit, and deliver Protoconcept equipment to its current roster of tour staff, including Lydia Ko, Haeji Kang, Ryuji Imada, and Chia Cheng.
First launched in 2019, Protoconcept Golf produces golf equipment that feature premium materials and are finished with the highest level of craftsmanship. Starting out only offering clubs to tour professionals, the company has since expanded to offer its range to all golfers.
The company’s forged irons have received Golf Digest’s Hot List award every year since the company’s inception. Its handcrafted range of forged golf clubs are available at a limited number of custom fitting companies in the US, including Cool Clubs, Urban Golf Performance, and online at Fairway Jockey. In the UK, golfers can book a fitting for Protoconcept clubs with Golf Tech UK, which is based in Chichester, West Sussex.
