Golf bag and accessories brand OGIO is celebrating its continued growth in the European market after reporting a 73% increase in year-on-year sales in the first half of 2023, boosted by an influential new partnership with golf content creator Peter Finch.
Since the turn of the year, the brand has released a range of eye-catching golf and non-golf products, with its funky Banarama range proving particularly popular on the fairways.
OGIO Europe began the year with a bang, securing one of golf’s most popular YouTube and media influencers, Peter Finch, as a global golf brand ambassador.
Additionally, OGIO has recently secured a partnership with St Andrews Links, which will see a limited range of exclusive products sold on the ‘home of golf’s’ website for the first time ever as the Terminal Bag, Layover Bag, Travel Cover Mid and Renegade Backpack become available in black with the famous St Andrew’s logo engraved on them.
The moment marks an incredible rise for a brand that only re-emerged into the golf world last year. A hugely successful Q1 and Q2 has seen OGIO Europe achieve a 73% year-on-year increase between January and June in sales across the business.
A number of products have sold out to retailers across the UK and Europe, with other products close to also selling out. Sale success is further being helped by direct-to-consumer sales through the OGIO Europe website (400% year-on-year increase on the first half of last year) and Amazon.
Golf is central to OGIO Europe’s success, with influencer partnerships – including with female content creators Bethsgolf and Keeks golf – also providing a huge boost.
The company released its exciting new range of stand and cart golf bags in a selection of eclectic colourways in February, with the All Elements Silencer Cart Bag bringing OGIO’s unique silencer technology back to the market. The premium 15-way moulded top – modified to work on oversized grips – delivers a more efficient way to organise set by easily locking each club into place, preventing noisy rattling and damage.
In January, OGIO released a new range of golf travel cover designs. In total, seven eye-catching colour schemes are available across the three golf travel cover sizes – standard, mid and max – with colourways ranging from the ‘Bananarama’ design, the striking pink ‘Donuts’ cover and the bold ‘Navy Flower Party’ design.
Michael Birch, OGIO sales and marketing manager EMEA, said: “OGIO stands out among the crowd with our range of products and designs helping us appeal to different demographics. The key for the brand is to differentiate from the competition and be disruptive in a very busy marketplace. Last year was an incredibly successful year for us with double-digit business growth, and 2023 looks to be following that same trend.”
