Leading golf retailer American Golf has announced a new partnership with charity Women in Sport, marking the next step in its commitment to supporting and championing female golfers across the UK.

The announcement follows a year of strong growth in American Golf’s women’s category, with more women taking up golf than ever before.

Over the past two years, women’s package-set sales have risen by 29% at the UK’s largest golf retailer, alongside an 18% rise in women’s golfing clothing and footwear.

This momentum isn’t just seen online – women are physically heading into stores where sales of women’s apparel and footwear have grown by 39%, reflecting a nationwide surge in interest from female golfers.

Women’s custom-fit sales have increased by 14% as more players seek personalised support to improve their performance and become more confident in the sport.

The partnership follows the success of American Golf’s recent collaboration with apparel brand Stromberg, which invited female golfers to design a polo for the SS26 collection. A percentage of sales from the winning polo will be donated directly to Women in Sport, further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to empowering women through golf.

To mark International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, American Golf will be offering 15% off all women’s clothing and footwear from 5-15 March both in-store and online.

The retailer continues to expand its women’s offering, now stocking more brands than ever before – including leading names such as Adidas, PING and Ted Baker.

Sophie Fox, Head of Marketing and Content at American Golf, said: “Our partnership with Women in Sport is another brilliant step towards empowering female golfers. It’s about breaking down barriers, and giving women the confidence to step onto the course, knowing that they have support at every level of their golfing journey.

“When women have the right equipment, clothing, and support – whether that’s being able to speak to professionals about what fits them best or having access to a wider range of brands – their confidence grows. And that’s how we keep golf moving in the right direction.”

Sarah Bellew, Head of Communications and Engagement at Women in Sport, said: “All women should feel that they belong on a golf course and the right clothing and equipment is a huge part of that. Partnering with American Golf helps continue to break down barriers and champion women in the sport, ensuring they feel welcome and equipped to step onto the course and enjoy their game. Together, we’re creating a sporting culture where women can thrive and feel a genuine sense of belonging at every level.”
