When it comes to golf stores: SIZE does matter

Direct Golf UK have announced they will be moving out of their Kent based store at Tonbridge Golf Centre on 31st July 2009.

Having been in operation for nearly three years store manager Dean Perkins said there were several reasons for closing down the store but the main reason is size. “All golfers deserve to get a wide variety of choice and availability, but with the restrictions of space it’s frustrating that we cannot hold all models and options from the manufacturers we stock. Even with a proposed extension the site would still not be large enough to upgrade the shop to a Superstore and we could not agree a long term deal based on the existing site with the landlord as the size limited the profitability of the store.”

“Many of our customers are happy to use Direct Golf UK’s award winning website (www.direct-golf.co.uk) and get their goods delivered direct to their door on a next day delivery service, however it would be a lot more satisfactory if we had space to stock more items.”

Direct Golf UK are actively looking into opening a new larger and more spacious golf store with the latest technology and custom fitting facilities in the surrounding area by the end of the year and will stay in regular contact with their loyal customers regarding the new superstore.
