Successful round for Savills

12.15am 23rd May 2005 - Property

A golf course in northern France has changed hands – from the English company who bought the land and built up the facility to an Irish company looking to expand their interests in the leisure property market.
The Golf de Rimaison, near Pontivy in Brittany, was on the market through the Savills Leisure Team in Oxford and went for close to the guide price of £675,000.
As well as the 9-hole course, set in the grounds of an old chateau, the property also includes several holiday gà®tes, created from cottages renovated by the former owner. Rimaison’s clubhouse, formerly a stone built barn with a slate roof, stands in an elevated position with commanding views over the surrounding countryside.
Sarah Payne, an associate director with Savills in Oxford, says, “Rimaison is in a lovely setting, in the pretty Blavet valley and surrounded by woodlands. This sort of opportunity doesn‘t come up very often and we‘re delighted to have been involved with the sale, which demonstrates our ability to handle leisure properties overseas as well as in the UK.”
