The 52 bedroom Bells Hotel and Forest of Dean Golf Club at Coleford, Gloucestershire have been sold by Savills to the owner of the nearby Forest of Dean Golf Club

Savills specialist golf agency team are delighted to announce the recent sale of Bells Hotel and The Forest of Dean Golf Club acting on behalf of Receivers KPMG.
Launched in December 2004 the sale was completed in the first week of February 2005 with strong interest from buyers in the region of £2 million – £2.5 million. It has been purchased by the owner of the nearby Forest Hills Golf Club.
Gary Witham of Savills commente, “Although the Christmas and New Year period is not an ideal time to launch a marketing campaign we have worked closely with KPMG and used our database of active buyers to conclude a swift sale at a good level. This continues the trend in the market place of strong operators looking to build a group of two or three facilities to benefit from cross selling and savings in overheads.”
The hotel and golf course are set in 115 acres. The hotel was opened as a Country Club in 1972 having originally been the local grammar school. The golf course was established in 1973 on adjoining farmland.
