Sale of Rye Hill Golf Course

FPDSavills has sold Rye Hill Golf Course in Oxfordshire. The new owner, Executive Sports Ltd, owns and operates Hemsted Forest Golf Course in Kent

FPDSavills has sold Rye Hill Golf Course, Milcombe, Oxfordshire on behalf of the founder owner, Alan Wyatt. Alan and his wife, Bridget, used to farm the land and built the golf course in 1992. It is now a well renowned golf facility in north Oxfordshire. The property was put on the market in 2001 pending the owners retirement and move to Scotland.

The free-draining course extends to 6,919yards, par 72 and includes a practice area and substantial clubhouse. There is a separate four bedroom farmhouse.

Rye Hill Golf Course has been bought by Executive Sports Ltd, owners and operators of Hemsted Forest Golf Course, Kent. The new owners intend to offer affiliate membership rights between the two courses and to improve further the quality of golf at Rye Hill.

“This is a natural expansion track for Executive Sports, who have been in the market some time for another facility,” commented Jeremy Rollason of FPDSavills. “Rye Hill has established itself as one of the leading golf courses in Oxfordshire and, with the benefit of a planning consent for holiday units at the site, this presents a new, exciting dimension to the business”.

The guide price for the whole including the farmhouse and holiday units consent was £1.95million.
