Recent sales through HMH Golf and Leisure

Golf course property specialist HMH Golf and Leisureto has been extremely busy this summer. Tom Marriott, HMH Director, said: “We have sold Malton Golf Club (8 miles from Cambridge) off market for close to the guide price of £1.25m. We went to a few people and agreed a deal quickly. It is a big site and the new owner wishes to change the course into two loops of nine and create a more organic course.

“We have exchanged contracts on Forest Hills in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The guide here was £1.25m and again this is an off market deal. The sale includes consent for 20 lodges and with a turnover of £800,000 the sale represents excellent value.

In another off market deal, contracts have been exchanged on the Japanese-owned Lamerwood Country Club near Wheathampstead, north of London, where the guide price was £2.5m. The purchaser, a local businessman, wishes to develop the banqueting business.

HMH Golf and Leisure is about to bring to the market a golf hotel located two hours west of London and an 18 hole course in the Cheshire area.

On mainland Europe the firm has two courses for sale in France, one in Sicily and one in Italy.
