Orlando area courses go to auction

12.30am 27th February 2006 - Property

Sheldon Good & Company, Inc. has announced the Thursday, 9th March auction of two Orlando-area golf courses – the newly renovated Hunter’s Creek Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course 15 minutes away from the Magic Kingdom and the Orlando Convention Center, and Palisades Golf Club on the beautiful shores of Lake Minneola in nearby Clermont.
The auction will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the Rosen Centre Hotel, 9840 International Drive, Orlando.
In announcing the auction, Steven L. Good, chairman and CEO of Sheldon Good & Company, Inc., said, “This is an excellent opportunity to purchase one or both of these two fine golf courses in the same market at your price, and to capitalize on economies of scale which can result in significant management savings. We see potential bidders for these properties as being golf-oriented all the way. In terms of enthusiasm for the game, these courses are ideally located. Florida ranks fourth in numbers of golfers aged 12+, (National Golf Foundation).”
Of the Orlando area itself, Alan R. Kravets, president, Sheldon Good & Company, Inc., who heads up their Golf Course and Hospitality Sales Division, noted, “Orlando is truly an ideal golf destination, with 300-plus sunny days per year, thousands of hotel rooms and a tourism industry that rivals any in the world. With approximately 150 local golf courses and such world class architects such as Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, Rees Jones, Robert Trent Jones, Dick Wilson and Joe Lee validating the high quality of golf in the area, Orlando is truly a golfer’s Eden.”
Hunter’s Creek, an exceptional golf facility designed by Lloyd Clifton and built in 1985, is located at 14401 Sports Club Way in Orlando, 15 minutes away from the Magic Kingdom and the Orlando Convention Center. It is being offered with a suggested opening bid of $2,750,000.
Palisades Golf Club, an 18-hole golf course designed by Joe Lee, and located at 16510 Palisades Blvd. in Clermont, has a suggested opening bid of $1,500,000.
