The partnership with IHG is a franchising agreement, meaning the ownership and management of both hotels will remain under the responsibility of the Onyria Group.
Under the agreement, the group’s flagship hotel – which sits just half an hour from Lisbon Airport and is home to an acclaimed par-71 Robert Trent Jones course – will become Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais, joining the globally renowned Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants portfolio. The rebrand will come into effect in early 2026 following renovations throughout the property’s 198 rooms, three restaurants, spa and other amenities.
Meanwhile, the existing Onyria Marinha Boutique Hotel and selection of villas will combine to form the Onyria Marinha Cascais – Vignette Collection ahead of the upcoming summer season.
An investment totalling €5m in renovations, interior design and rebranding will take place in the coming months as the venues transition.

While IHG Hotels & Resorts lends global brand recognition and a reputation for world-class hospitality, the Onyria Group and Pinto Coelho family will retain full operational control of the properties, and the respective management teams will continue their work at both rebranded hotels.
João Pinto Coelho, CCO of the Onyria Group, said: “We believe that the IHG brands are perfectly aligned with our vision of preserving the cultural heritage of our destination and product, while offering authentic and unique experiences. This partnership makes perfect sense for the Onyria Group as it brings us global recognition, access to over 145 million IHG One Rewards members, and an elevated luxury experience for all our guests.”
Earlier in 2025, the Onyria Group confirmed the acquisition of French golf resort Château des Vigiers, which offers 65 guest rooms, a 27-hole golf course, a spa and a Michelin-starred restaurant.
