North Downs Golf Club in Surrey is to be sold at auction with a guide price of £1.5m.
The 88-acre property near Caterham encompasses a 5,815-yard, 18-hole course with a 7,147 square foot clubhouse, car park and ancillary buildings. It will be sold online at a live-streamed auction on July 9.
The club, which was founded in 1899, was bought by property investment company Safeland PLC in November 2018 for more than £1 million.
The club is currently held in a company which means that its purchase would only incur Stamp Duty of 0.5% to the new buyer.
John Mehtab of auctioneers Acuitus commented: ““This course enjoys a beautiful setting and the opportunity for a new owner to grow the golf club business.”
The auction will take place on July 9 at 2pm and will be broadcast online from Acuitus.co.uk. Interested buyers can submit bids by telephone, online or in writing ahead of the sale.
