Savills, on behalf of a private individual, has sold the freehold of Silecroft Golf Course in Cumbria to a local investor. The site was marketed at a guide price of £349,000.
Set across circa 72 acres (29 hectares) of land, the links golf club comprises nine holes and 18 tees located adjacent to Silecroft beach on the western periphery of the Lake District National Park.
Richard Prestwich, director in the leisure and trade related team at Savills Chester, comments: “Silecroft Golf Course offered the purchaser an opportunity to acquire a well-established and mature course with outstanding views across the Irish sea. With golf courses now open following the Covid-19 lockdown, the site is set to benefit from an uptick in footfall in the coming weeks. This type of asset remains popular with investors, which is why we were able to secure a good price on behalf of our client.”
